Food safety is a pressing issue and primary concern for the Vietnamese Government and its citizens. The Australian Government is keen to support the Vietnamese Government as it implements the National Strategic Plan on Food Safety by sharing Australian knowledge and experience around producing food that is safe and free from contamination and disease. The Viet Nam - Australia Food Safety Forum 2015 provides an opportunity for sharing and exchanging of information about each nation’s respective approaches to food safety and identify areas of future collaboration to support the growth of and enhance confidence in Viet Nam’s agricultural and food sectors.

The Viet Nam - Australia Food Safety Forum 2015 provides an opportunity to:

    update information about the food safety situation and regulatory environment in Viet Nam as well as learn more about food safety standards and management systems in Australia

    share and discuss food safety policy such as quality assurance, traceabilty and supply chain management

    build stronger partnerships and collaborative opportunities in the food and agriculture sectors between Viet Nam and Australia

    develop greater cooperation in research and intellectual exchanges between Viet Nam and Australia

    explore commercial opportunities for Viet Nam and Australia.

On October 5th, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement was finally concluded. The TPP Agreement isexpected to remarkably enhance trade, investment and services, thus improvedsustainable growth and livelihoods in the Asia – Pacific region in the 21st century.

The TPP Agreement would also have great impacts to agriculture sector of TPP partners in general and Viet Nam in particular. To timely share Viet Nam’s commitments in agriculture sector under TPP Agreement whilst providea forum to discuss and contribute to our sector’s preparation to deal with  challenges, opportunities  and solutions as results from the TPP Agreement implementation, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) would like to invite you and your collegues to participate in the ISG Plenary Meeting2015 Vietnam’s accession to TPP Agreement: Prospects and Solutions for Agriculture.
