Ha Noi, 05/12/07: Viet Nam and Indonesia have pledged to further boost their cooperation in fisheries by signing a document on their negotiation.
Signatories were Aquatic Resources Exploitation and Protection Department Director Chu Tien Vinh and Sea Fish Exploitation Department Director under the Indonesian Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, Parlin Tabunan.
According to Tabunan, the old Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on fisheries cooperation between the Vietnamese Fisheries Ministry and the Indonesian Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs will expire on January 1, 2008, compelling the two sides to propose their Governments an extension or creation of a new MoU.
The new MoU, with additions to investment in seafood processing in Indonesia , will be submitted to the two ministries for approval.
