Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dzung has just signed Decision No. 962/QD-TTg on the establishment of the Steering Committee of the project "Vocational training for rural workers until 2020."
The Project Steering Committee was tasked to advise and recommend to the Prime Minister on the orientation, mechanisms, policies and solutions for implementing the project on vocational training for rural workers until 2020; assist the Prime Minister in the direction and coordination of activities among ministries, agencies and related organizations and local authorities in implementing policies, programs, plans and activities of this project.
According to the assignment, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan was assigned to be the Chairman. Permanent Vice Chairman is the Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. The Steering Committee also has two Vice Chairmen, and six members.
In addition, the Steering Committee also has a Task Force, decided by and responsible to assist the Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The operational cost of the Steering Committee and the Task Force will be borne from the state budget and will be arranged in an annual budget estimate of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Previously, on 27 November 2009, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1956/QD-TTg on approval of the project "Vocational training for rural workers until 2020. The basic objective of the project is, on annual average, to provide vocational trainings to about one million rural workers, including training and capacity building for 100,000 cadres, commune public servants.
The total state budget for the project implementation was estimated at VND 25,980 billion, including funding for vocational trainings of rural workers: 24,694 billion, funds for training, capacity building for commune public civil servants VND 1286 billion. /.
