On 11th September 2015, Minister of Agriculture and Rural development signed the Decision on awarding the campaign medal “For agricultural and rural development” to Mr. OKIURA Fumihiko, JICA Vice Chief Representative in Viet Nam for his efforts and contributions to the Viet Nam’s agricultural and rural development.
At the Conference, Mr Pham Van Tan, Deputy Director of Department of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate change (MONRE), Deputy Head of the Standing board of Vietnam’s Climate change Negotiation group said: Viet Nam is currently ranked 31st for total CO2 emissions which severely affect the poor people of the country.
Initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Directorate of Fisheries, the agreement was co-founded by the German International Co-operation Agency (GIZ), Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH), Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Viet Nam Institute of Fisheries Economics and Planning (VIFEF), Viet Nam Fisheries Society (VINAFIS), World Wide Fund for Nature Viet Nam (WWF Viet Nam) and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
The project on the development of regional markets in the 2015-2020 period with a vision towards 2030 has been approved by the Prime Minister in the Decision No. 1467/QD-TTg on 24th August 2015. Accordingly, Vietnam aims to reach 300 billion USD in export turnover by 2020 with an annual average export growth rate of 11% to 12% over the 2015-2020 period. Depending on export characteristics and situations in each market, the specific export targets are determined as follows: United States and Spain are approximately $60 billion, Europe is also about $60 billion, Southeast Asia is about 30 billion US dollars, and West Asia is about $18 billion, etc...
Coming at Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Moros and his spouse paid an official visit to Viet Nam from 30th to 31st August in order to further strengthen the friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries. Strengthening agricultural cooperation was one of the focuses in President N. Maduro’s first visit to Viet Nam since he took office in April 2013.
In the morning of August 26th 2015, a rubber latex processing plant of the Tan Bien-Kampong Thom Development Company was formally inaugurated in Kampong Thom province, Cambodia.
